Change Your Day… Change Your Life By Counting Your Blessings: Something so simple can and will change the whole outlook on your life. It's very difficult to go a day or even an hour without a multitude of memorable passages that provide the opportunity to be thankful. The key is to be open enough in your daily thinking to recognize them. At first, it may require a bit of skill. But once you start you will be amazed at how easy it becomes.
.
What is the reward of counting your blessings daily? Well, if you really give it some thought, you will discover that there are quite a few. The first thing you'll discover is a sense of gratification and contentment. You become delighted as you discover all the incredibly wonderful little things that you're surrounded with. Here is a simple example; if you have a fresh glass of water to drink any time you experience thirst. Then you are truly blessed compared to the countless numbers of people around the world that have to struggle virtually every day to have a drink of clean water. Next time you pour yourself a fresh glass of water don't take it for granted. Yes, water does cost money where you live, but gives you life, and is probably one of the simplest things you can do to keep yourself healthy.

There is a favorable chance that you have some form of reliable heating. But consider this: you are a painter, or you are a composer, or maybe you are a writer, pick any form of creative endeavor you choose. You're living in Paris, France in the late 1800s. You are one of the thousands of creative people that live in an artist's garret. It's a habitable room in an attic, you would call it a little space, but it's anything but deluxe. They are usually at the very top of a residence or a very large building. They are small, dismal and cramped with sloping ceilings. A classic building in Paris is the Palace Saint-Georges, which has these Garrets all around the top of the building.

It's the middle of winter. It can get very cold in Paris. You live in one of these humble flats. You have a small coal stove to provide you with heat. But you cannot afford to go down to the street and buy coal from the coal vendor's cart. Then it occurs to you that this cold weather is impacting your creativity. But you discover that while you're huddling under a stack of blankets to stay warm. The creative muse shows up and fills your mind with all of these wonderful ideas to help you pursue your career as an artist. When it warms up, you execute all of those clever brilliant ideas. Then you look back and say to yourself, “those cold days turned out to be a blessing in a very uncomfortable disguise, but a true creative blessing, that filled the imagination.

If you have the materials to create with, then that is a blessing. Being popular on social media may feel like a blessing, but most likely it robs you from thinking, being, and producing the very thing that gives you your greatest joy in life.
.
Walking out in nature, and feeling its grandeur in every molecule of your body and mind, is a true blessing. It's one that nearly everyone experiences, and even the animals that live there know that they are blessed. If you simply stop and think about all the things that you're exposed to and the possessions that you have, it's not much of a reach to feel blessed.
.
Where do you think the blessings you actually recognize come from? I suppose you could argue that many of them came from your hard labor; like maybe the car you drive. But there are so many blessings that need to be felt inside your heart to be realized. Spend a day literally, ‘counting your blessings.’ You will quickly discover a new appreciation for all the things in your life. Some no doubt are objects we often refer to as materialistic possessions. But when you start counting the many blessings you have received from your heavenly father it's important to be extra appreciative. Before you go to sleep, every night, count your daily blessings. I can personally attest to the fact that you will wake up with a beautiful attitude toward your life and those around you. Open your eyes and your mind. Be thankful, by welcoming the blessings that are over abundant in your life when you take the time to discover them.

"I sat as lonely as can be, staring at the ground. A kind soul walked by, kneeled down and made eye contact, and said "you are blessed because you can see and hear me." The kind soul was a messenger that told me to raise my head to heaven and be thankful for the blessings that are abundantly available and are all around me." Rod Jones artist.
